New Jobs Coming To The West Side of Southaven

Real Jobs…

The Southaven Board of Aldermen approved a 810,000 square foot warehouse on Stateline Road west of the railroad tracks and west of Highway 51 last board meeting.

This warehouse will have close to 100 employees and is the first
new business of this size to be built in the West End District in years.

These are the kind of things that will make new restaurants and businesses want to open on Stateline and Hwy 51….

Free Gas For The Holidays

It’s that time of year again.
I will be out in the next few days passing out gas gift certificates to some lucky folks in the neighborhood to help make their holiday season better.

Thanks again to Raceway Gas Station on Stateline for partnering with me to make this happen.
Next time you go in tell them thanks for supporting
our neighborhood…

Sky Cop Cameras In Colonial Hills

The Sky Cops security cameras are finally up in our Neighborhood.

You might remember this was one of the first things I asked for when I took office to make the parks safer for our residents and to curb the destruction and vandalism that took place on a frequent basis.

Thank you former Police Chief Steve Pirtle for having the vision to address our needs and to Chiefs Moore and Little for getting them installed.

The cameras are located at the park on Brookhaven Drive and at the Cherry Valley Park.

A Hero’s Recognition

On Friday, the City of Southaven hosted their annual Veteran’s Day Appreciation luncheon.
You may remember the City started this luncheon way back when Greg Davis was mayor and he wanted to honor his Dad and others like him who gave so much in service to our Nation…
There was a big turn-out like always but someone was missing… Someone who has been at these luncheons as far back as I can remember.
But this year he couldn’t make the trip because he is now fighting another kind of battle.
Not like he did in his younger days in the Army National Guard, but it’s still life or death – He is fighting cancer.
Arthur Hicks is a long time resident of the Colonial Hills subdivision, and one of the nicest neighbors you could ask for, and I wasn’t going to have him left out.
So rather than attending the luncheon myself, I decided to bring the luncheon to one of our neighborhood hero’s.
As you can see, he and 4 legged pal, named Buddy, were glad to see me stop by.
Thank you Mr. Arthur for your service to our Nation and we offer our prayers for victory in your current battle.

Bobby Reed Endorses Charlie Hoots

I am proud to announce that former District 3 Supervisor Candidate Bobby Reed is endorsing me in the upcoming run-off election on August 27th.

Bobby and I have been friends for over 40 years and share a belief that District 3 should not be left behind as DeSoto County prospers.

Bobby had a lot of great ideas and raised a lot of concerns that I will work closely with him to achieve.
