Neighbors that take care of their yards and those that take care of their neighbors are given recognition for their work. The Yard of the Month is picked based on nominations by their neighbors for their outstanding hard work in their yards.
The Good Neighbor awards are for neighbors that go the extra mile in making Colonial Hills a better place to live. Previous recipients have been recognized for looking out for their neighbors, taking care of neighborhood parks and for keeping neighborhood traditions alive.
The gift certificate awards and signs are a cooperative effort between local businessman Fadi Salameh (owner of the RaceWay on Stateline) and Alderman Charlie Hoots.
